During the Nourish hiatus this spring, Reagan celebrated her 30th birthday! Yep, the big 3-0! With a one-year-old celebration for Levi & Mother’s Day falling on the same weekend, Reagan’s husband Greg enlisted help from Cara and I to plan a meaningful, pretty soirée. And, let me tell you, it was so pretty!

Greg knew that an intimate gathering centered around a delicious homemade meal would be just the way Reagan would want to ring in this new decade of her life. So, that in mind, Cara and I developed a menu of Reagan’s favorite things. From cocktail hour to dessert, we went straight for the good stuff!  The evening consisted of Amaretto Sours in mason jars, a dinner comprised of “Guest Chicken”, roasted asparagus, seasoned thick cut fries, a fresh apple salad, and rolo pretzels and eclair cake for dessert!

As for  the decor, we knew we wanted to create a warm, feminine atmosphere. Something that said, “join me for dinner, but please mind your p’s and q’s.” Cara and I decided to use real dinnerware, complete with cloth napkins and sliverware to boot, something rarely seen these days. Mijanne saved the day in a major way by providing flowers for all of the arrangements and we used a few items from my wedding to complete the table scape. It was truly beautiful seeing this long, outdoor table carefully set with someone you cherish at every place.

To accurately capture the love shared that evening, the talented Jonpaul Douglass set up an amazing photo booth where lots and lots of “modeling” took place.
